Hi!  My name is Heather Lorenzo.  I teach second grade CKLA-Knowledge, Skills, and IRLA at J. S. Aucoin Elementary in Amelia, LA.  I've been teaching for 15 1/2 years.  I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education grades 1-8 from Nicholls State University.  After 6 years, I obtained a certification for grades Pre-K and Kindergarten.  I began my teaching career at Aucoin, teaching fifth grade for four years.  I then transferred to Norman Elementary where I taught fifth grade for an additional two years, then switched to kindergarten.  After five years of teaching kindergarten at Norman, I transferred back to Aucoin.  I guess you could say - I came back home.  I taught Kindergarten for 3 more years at Aucoin.  Now, I'm teaching second grade.  

I'm married to Dale Lorenzo.  We've been together for 30 years.  We have three adult sons: Zach, Matt, and Josh.  Zach is married and he and his wife have a little boy named Samuel.  Sam is my entire world.  I absolutely love being a Nona!  Matt, my middle son, graduated UL in business finance.  And Josh, my youngest son, graduated from UL in Kinesiology. He will now go on to physical therapy school to become a physical therapist.  My sons are my life.  

In my spare time, I love to read and attend concerts, plays, and musicals.  I also enjoy spending time with my family (especially my grandson) and TEACHING.
