Meet the Principal

Ms. Shantell Toups

My name is Shantell Toups. I am currently the principal at J.S. Aucoin Elementary. I started my career in education in 1999. Over the years, I have taught special education and 4th grade, been a curriculum facilitator and an assistant principal prior to my role as principal. I graduated from Nicholls State University with a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and returned to school to obtain my teaching certification. As a life-time learner, I continued my education at NSU in the Masters Program, obtaining a Reading Specialist degree, and then attended University of Louisiana Lafayette where I received my Educational Leadership Masters Degree. Education is my passion.
